Winter Whites Gala with Prince William, Taylor Swift, and no Kate Middleton

Centrepoint’s Winter Whites Gala was held last night at Kensington Palace.  Prince William attended the event, Kate did not.  Taylor Swift attended the event, as did Jon Bon Jovi and Colin Firth (!).  The Winter Whites Gala is basically a yearly fundraiser put on by Centrepoint to aid homeless teens and new adults.  I’m surprised Kate didn’t want to go and meet all those celebs, you know she loves celebs.  Maybe she didn’t want to be upstaged by Taylor Swift and decided to stay home.  Kate didn’t attend last year’s Gala either, because it was a week or so after her hospital visit.  I am surprised whenever Kate skips a gala or any other event where she gets to wear a fancy dress and get her hair done, because you know those are her favorites.

New details about Kate and George, Princess Diana movie panned by critics

There’s a new article about Kate in Vanity Fair (here’s a Yahoo article with bullet points), with new details from Katie Nicholl’s new book (out September 17).  All I can say is that if any of this is true, then the Midds have done some serious leaking.

Kate’s “perfect” birth, Uncle Gary is talking again and Guy Pelly will not be a godparent

Kate’s first official royal appearance was last week at a race or something, it was supposed to be William’s solo but then she surprised everyone by turning up.  Everyone except Niraj Tanna, of course, who called it a day or so earlier.  I was going to cover it, but then I didn’t.  I don’t have much to say except that she’s back in her pre-pregnancy skinny jeans… five weeks after giving birth to an eight pound baby.  Sketchy?  I don’t know, I was told on Twitter that if she’s breastfeeding—and reports claim she is—that it’s possible to have lost all that weight in such a short amount of time.  Now I’m not going to say anything too crazy (just in case), but I must say that if she did not actually gain any baby weight, I think it’s unacceptable to claim the weight just “fell off” when the weight was never there to begin with, it sends a bad—and totally fake and unrealistic—message to normal women.  But then, of course she gained weight, right?  You can’t go through a pregnancy and delivery and not gain weight 😉  Here’s a bunch of articles about the appearance if you’re interested.

Prince George’s first official portraits aren’t great

The first official photographs of Prince George Alexander were released today.  There are two photos: one with Will, Kate and George; and one with Will, Kate, George and Lupo.  Glad to see Lupo not being left out.  The photos were taken by Michael Middleton (Kate’s father).

Kate is still insisting she doesn’t have a nanny, and other news

I’ve been dealing with personal stuff the last week and a half, and have ignored the royal BS PR machine during that time.  But now I’m back to it and as disappointed as ever.  Basically I’m catching up on some of the stories from the last week and a half, or so.

It is NOT okay to call her Princess Kate: titles clarification

There has been some confusion/controversy over Kate Middleton’s official title in the last few days.  It all started when Clarence House released an image of Prince George’s birth certificate and under “mother’s occupation” it said, “Princess of the United Kingdom”.  After this was made public, the media pounced on the “princess” reference.  They made a huge deal about Kate being called a princess, and a lot of reporters and fans were saying it is now okay to call Kate, Princess Kate.  Of course the rational, non-sycophants were very unhappy with this and pushed against those saying Kate is a princess and that it’s okay to call her Princess Kate by saying that Kate is not a princess but rather a duchess, since she was bestowed the title Duchess of Cambridge upon her marriage.  I would like to clarify things a bit:
