Royal Foundation invests £2 million in digital mental health start-up

After spending the summer putting their heads together, Heads Together dropped some info on phase two of their campaign yesterday. After spending a year telling people it’s okay to have conversations about mental health, Heads Together will now focus on helping people have those conversations. To do this, The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry is investing £2 million in a new start-up for digital mental health innovation.

Royals send condolences for Barcelona & Cambrils attacks

On Thursday and Friday, there were a string of terror attacks in Spain, killing over a dozen people and injuring over 100. The Guardian has a good timeline of events here and here, if you’re interested. In what is sadly feeling more and more like routine as the world suffers more and more attacks this year, various royals sent out messages of condolence to King Felipe of Spain.

Prince Philip stepping down from public duties

In the wee hours of the morning on May 4, there was word that there was a meeting called with the royal staff about a big announcement regarding the royals, and speculation went wild wondering what it was about. It turned out not to be as drastic as had been speculated, but it was very significant: Prince Philip has decided he will no longer carry out public engagements.

Peter Phillips’ company was paid £750,000 to organize The Patron’s Lunch

Do you remember how the guests at The Patron’s Lunch were charged £150 per person to attend the not-for-profit event which was supposed to raise money for the charities of which the Queen is patron, and how Peter Phillips, the Queen’s grandson, and his company were organizing the event? Well, SEL UK, the company Peter works for, received £750,000 in payment for organizing the event.

Rebecca Deacon getting married, dumping Kate

I’m fairly annoyed that KP hasn’t announced any more engagements for Kate Middleton for March, other than the ones we already know: a Service of Dedication on March 9, and the Paris trip on March 17-18 (whose itinerary has still not been released). The lineup for Commonwealth Day was released and neither William nor Kate is attending (although Harry is), and there is still no word on whether the Cambs will show up to the Irish Guards Parade on St. Patrick’s Day. Kate did a surprising number of engagements in January and February of this year, more than any other year she’s been a royal, but I guess we’re back to the same old routine. Boring. Anyway, there is news regarding Kate’s right-hand woman, Rebecca Deacon. Deacon is leaving Kate’s service after five years.
