Prince Philip stepping down from public duties

In the wee hours of the morning on May 4, there was word that there was a meeting called with the royal staff about a big announcement regarding the royals, and speculation went wild wondering what it was about. It turned out not to be as drastic as had been speculated, but it was very significant: Prince Philip has decided he will no longer carry out public engagements.

Kate Middleton at BP Christmas lunch, gains HM’s patronages (update)

The extended British Royal Family joined Queen Elizabeth for a pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace yesterday, December 20. Also yesterday, BP announced that HM will be stepping down as Patron from 25 organizations, and handing them out to various family members.

Kate Middleton in Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara for Diplomatic Reception

Well this is a lovely surprise. The annual Evening Reception for the Diplomatic Corps was held tonight, November 8, at Buckingham Palace, and Prince William and Kate Middleton joined Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall for the white tie event.

William, Kate & Harry join the Queen at Buckingham Palace reception for Team GB

Last night, October 18, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace for Team GB and Paralympics GB Rio 2016 medalists. They were joined by Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, Prince Andrew, Princess Anne, the Duke of Kent, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. Princess Eugenie was scheduled to attend, but she pulled out for an unknown reason. Also skipping the reception, some of the biggest names from the Olympics: Mo Farrah, Bradley Wiggins, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Jason Kenny, and Laura Trott.

British royals attend The Patron’s Lunch

I’m a bit behind on posts now since I went out of town on Sunday (to Orlando – I’m fine; my friends are fine; what happened at Pulse is a terrible tragedy and my thoughts are with victims, and the families and friends affected by this hate-filled crime), so I’m playing catch up.
