Swedish royals at Nobel Laureates Dinner

King Carl XVI Gustaf‘s dinner for the Nobel Laureates was held last night, December 11, at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Unlike the Nobel Banquet (which is put on by the Nobel committee) the Laureates dinner is hosted by the King – a tradition dating from 1904 when King Oscar II implemented a separate gala dinner to honor the award winners.

Swedish Royals at the Nobel Prize Ceremony and Banquet

One of my favorite events of the entire royal year is the Nobel Prize Ceremony because of the fashion and tiaras. This year, the entire adult Swedish Royal Family came out for the event: King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine, and Chris O’Neill. And there were some wows, and some what thes.

Queen Margrethe’s 75th birthday gala dinner: night one

Last night, April 15, Queen Margrethe held a Gala Dinner at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, Denmark. This was the first of two gala dinners this week in celebration of Margrethe’s 75th birthday. The second dinner is tonight, on her actual birthday. The first gala was attended by many monarchs (and their spouses) from across Europe. No one from the British Royal Family was there. The gala was a white tie event with tiaras and orders.

Tiara Tour 2015: Queen Letizia, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Silvia

I love state visits when royalty is involved, you know why? Tiaras. There are currently three state visits going on in three different countries. Colombia paid a state visit to Spain, Mexico paid a state visit to Britain, and Sweden paid a state visit to Finland. The three royal stars of the tiara show: Queen Letizia, Queen Elizabeth II, and Queen Silvia.

Silvia, Victoria, Madeleine, Sofia: Which Swedish Royal lady looked best at the Nobel Prize Ceremony?

Cue the mic drop, Crown Princess Victoria just schooled everyone in how to bring the fashion dramz. Victoria went all out stunning for the Nobel Prize Ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall and Nobel Banquet at Stockholm City Hall in a red, strapless ballgown accessorized with a fringe tiara. This is what I think of when I think of a Princess. That’s not to say that Queen Silvia, Princess Madeleine, and Sofia Hellqvist didn’t look fantastic, they did, but Victoria stole the show for me.
