Danish Royal Family in tiaras for New Year’s Banquet

The Danes kicked off 2016 on January 1 with their annual New Year’s Banquet at Christian VII’s Palace. Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik – along with Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim, and Princess Marie – hosted government officials and other guests. This event, which originated in the 1600s, is one of the most formal events on the Danish calendar.

Queen Margrethe’s 75th birthday gala dinner: night one

Last night, April 15, Queen Margrethe held a Gala Dinner at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, Denmark. This was the first of two gala dinners this week in celebration of Margrethe’s 75th birthday. The second dinner is tonight, on her actual birthday. The first gala was attended by many monarchs (and their spouses) from across Europe. No one from the British Royal Family was there. The gala was a white tie event with tiaras and orders.

Royals in tiaras for the Dutch-Denmark State Visit

The Tiara Tour LIVES! Sorry I haven’t gotten to it until now; real life beckoned. But we’re here now, so let’s head over to Denmark where the Netherlands paid a State Visit. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima landed in Denmark Tuesday, March 17. I’ll cover some of the other photos from the visit later; this is just for the March 17 evening State Banquet (with tiaras, gowns, and sashes) at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen. There were five ladies in tiaras: Queen Maxima, Queen Margrethe, Crown Princess Mary, Princess Marie, and Princess Benedikte.
