Queen Letizia starts January with color and a speech

After two outings of boringness from Kate Middleton last week, let’s catch up with someone who not only wears color but makes speeches: Queen Letizia. Leti’s been busy already this January, so I’m combining four events into one post. Leti attended the New Year’s Military Parade, audiences at Zarzuela Palace, Telef√≥nica Ability Awards, and the delivery of the National Research Awards 2014.

Queen Letizia supports Felipe at CSIC, speaks at Conference on Volunteering

Since the last Queen Letizia post went over pretty well, and Kate Middleton decided to go shopping in Norfolk instead of go to the SportsBall, let’s check back in with Leti for Black Friday. On Monday, November 24, Letizia joined her husband, King Felipe VI, attending the 75th anniversary of the Superior Council for Scientific Research (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient√≠ficas – CSIC) in Madrid. On Thursday, November 27, Letizia made a solo trip to Palma de Mallorca to preside over the opening of the XVII National Conference on Volunteering held at the Hospitality School of the University of the Balearic Islands.

Queen Letizia confident in red for speech at ICN2

Queen Letizia of Spain was in Rome, Italy on Thursday, November 20, for the Second International Conference on Nutrition hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Health Organization. Letizia gave a speech about nutrition, speaking to an audience of delegates from 172 countries around the world, including Pope Francis – who also spoke, saying that the right to a healthy diet was about dignity, not charitable handouts.
