Here is a little royal round up of some things that have been happening. Prince William officially left his job with the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), the Swedish royal family color-coordinated in blue for their summer photo, and the Belgian royal family color-coordinated in purples for National Day.

KP: William to leave EAAA, increase royal duties

Kensington Palace officially confirmed that Prince William will leave his co-pilot job with East Anglian Air Ambulance this summer, and starting in the fall will spend more time working for royal family. Kate Middleton will also increase her work for the royal family, while Prince George and Princess Charlotte attend school in London.

Kate Middleton ‘it’s fine to be shy’; Sophie Countess of Wessex starts bike challenge (updated)

I have a bit of clean up on a Kate Middleton quote from Friday, and then the rest of the post is the start of Sophie Countess of Weesex‘s DofE Award Diamond Challenge. I’ll be covering the Swedes tomorrow.

UPDATE: Prince William really wants you to know he’s such a Normal Bloke with his air ambulance job. But I’m too tired to make it it’s own post so I’m tacking it on to the end of this one.

The royal finances for the fiscal year 2015-16 have been released. The short version: The Queen‘s income and expenses were up; Prince Charles‘ expenses were down; Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry‘s expenses were up; it now costs “62p per person in the UK” to fund the royals.

KP throws CAA under the bus to defend Prince William’s laziness, CAA isn’t having it

This is getting hilarious. It seems that all of the criticism Prince William has been getting from the various papers this past week has gotten under Kensington Palace’s skin. Kensington Palace issued a statement about William’s work schedule, throwing the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) under the bus to do so, but CAA isn’t having any of that BS and issued their own statement to counter KP’s defense.

Prince William to snub BAFTA awards again

In 2010, Prince William became President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). That year, he attended the British Academy Film Awards and presented Vanessa Redgrave with a British Academy Fellowship. Since then, he has attended the BAFTA Awards only one other time – in 2014 when he presented the Fellowship to Helen Mirren – though he has done a handful of other BAFTA-related events over the years. This trip down memory lane is all to set up the fact that The Sun is reporting that William will skip this year’s BAFTA Awards this Sunday as well as a pre-BAFTA event at Kensington Palace on Saturday (just like he did last year).

Prince William takes job as air ambulance pilot because he’s a tantrum-y baby trying to avoid royal work

Le Sigh. On Thursday, August 7, the Palace officially announced (although the press announced this months ago via “sources”) that Prince William will be taking a full time job as a pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. I didn’t cover it until now because, well, I was still processing. I’m not sure how I feel about this. Part of me wants to scream and yell, but part of me just wants to hang my head and stop following Will and Kate Middleton altogether. If they’re not going to give a sh-t about their royal duties, then why should I, you know? But I’ve noticed something weird with some people’s reaction to this news… they like his decision. What the what? Like, they’re seriously making excuses for his d-cking around. How is that even possible? This post is about Will’s new job and how dumb it is, but also about the excuses people are making for it, because they are in denial about the real reason he took this new job (hint: he’s a selfish brat).
