New book reveals relationship details, Guy Pelly may be a godparent and George has a new nickname

There is a new book coming out (or is already out) by Katie Nicholl, a reporter for the Daily Mail and a long-time Middleton insider/sycophant.  The book is titled Kate: the Future Queen, and gives a bunch of new intimate details about William and Kate’s relationship.

Prince George’s first official portraits aren’t great

The first official photographs of Prince George Alexander were released today.  There are two photos: one with Will, Kate and George; and one with Will, Kate, George and Lupo.  Glad to see Lupo not being left out.  The photos were taken by Michael Middleton (Kate’s father).

Kate is still insisting she doesn’t have a nanny, and other news

I’ve been dealing with personal stuff the last week and a half, and have ignored the royal BS PR machine during that time.  But now I’m back to it and as disappointed as ever.  Basically I’m catching up on some of the stories from the last week and a half, or so.

It is NOT okay to call her Princess Kate: titles clarification

There has been some confusion/controversy over Kate Middleton’s official title in the last few days.  It all started when Clarence House released an image of Prince George’s birth certificate and under “mother’s occupation” it said, “Princess of the United Kingdom”.  After this was made public, the media pounced on the “princess” reference.  They made a huge deal about Kate being called a princess, and a lot of reporters and fans were saying it is now okay to call Kate, Princess Kate.  Of course the rational, non-sycophants were very unhappy with this and pushed against those saying Kate is a princess and that it’s okay to call her Princess Kate by saying that Kate is not a princess but rather a duchess, since she was bestowed the title Duchess of Cambridge upon her marriage.  I would like to clarify things a bit:

George has a name/Kate’s stomach is causing drama/Camb’s moving into Anmer? [Updated]

Baby Cambridge officially has a name: George Alexander Louis.  It was announced last week, only a day after they left the hospital.  I thought it would take much longer than that to get a name, so I was surprised when they announced it so early.  It’s a pretty boring, predictable name.  Every bookmaker had George as the favorite.  I’m not in love with the name.  George is boring and seems outdated to me.  I’m surprised there are only three names and neither Charles nor Philip is among them.  I thought for sure at least one of those would be present.  Louis is the name of Lord Mountbatten—Charles’ favorite uncle—and is one of William’s middle names; Charles wanted to honor Mountbatten when he named William.  I dislike Mountbatten, he was a disgusting paedophile (sec. 3, par 4-6; par 23-29), so I dislike that they used the name Louis in honor of him.  I love the name Alexander, though.  I wish they had used that as a first name.

The Cambridges left the hospital

The new Prince of Cambridge was born only on Monday, but there is a ton of baby coverage and articles surrounding every little thing.  Like, seriously, there are eight articles on the Daily Mail website just from today.  It’s ridiculous.  I don’t even want to bother reading it all, at least not tonight, too annoying.  I just want to cover the major thing that happened today (or yesterday, technically, since it’s after midnight).  The Cambridges went home from the hospital, giving the press their money shot that they’ve been waiting outside the Lindo Wing all this month for.  Go here for a picture of the family; here for a sweet picture of William holding his son; and here and here for close-ups of the baby.  It looks like he does have some dark hairs already, so cute.  I’m going to give the baby the benefit of the doubt, since he is only a baby and he didn’t ask to be born, whom to be born to, or what he looks like.  Until he does something worth criticizing him for, I’m going to leave him alone.  But that won’t stop me from criticizing his parents.  Just because they had a baby does not absolve them of their sins.

The DM is still whitewashing W&K, but poll says people are coming around to Charles

There is a new report about a poll conducted by Ipsos MORI involving the public opinion of the British monarchy.  The article does not say how many people were involved in this poll, but it seems that this poll is by a legitimate agency, rather than some dumb online poll from a fashion website.  The company is a market research company with a legit website, so while I don’t know what the numbers for the poll are, I would assume that they aren’t misleading.  I’m going to skip the bit about 65% of those polled wanting the new royal baby to experience a normal working life, by holding an actual job, and just say: that’s interesting; they don’t want the baby to be a do-nothing, over-privileged brat that is completely out of touch with the average public.  I’m going to skip to some other things I think are interesting: the fact that Charles’ popularity is on the rise, and the whitewashing of both Kate and William’s lives.
