Sofia Hellqvist on her modeling and reality TV past: “No regrets… I can say I have lived life 100 percent”

Has anyone ever seen a Kardashian on a show like E! News or Jimmy Kimmel? I ask because the way Sofia Hellqvist talks about how wrong all the tabloid stories are about her reminds me of how the Kardashians, in interviews, always bring up the tabloid stories about them and then say how wrong they are. Sofia opened up about meeting the Swedish Royal Family for the first time in the documentary, Aret med Kungafamiljen (A Year with the Royal Family), when she sat down for an interview along with her fiance, Prince Carl Philip.

Princess Madeleine moves to Europe

It’s been rumored for a while that Princess Madeleine and husband Chris O’Neill would move from their home in New York, and she’s even talked about moving, and now the Swedish Court has released a statement saying Maddie and Chris, along with their daughter Princess Leonore, are leaving New York for Europe. According to the press release, they have not decided where in Europe they will live, and are currently staying at their apartment in Stockholm.

Swedish Royals step out for Swedish Academy formal gathering

At the risk of becoming the Swedish Royal Family Review, I’m covering the Swedes again.  King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill, and Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist all stepped out for the Swedish Academy Formal Gathering yesterday, December 20, at the Stock Exchange, Stockholm to mark the end of the Academy’s working year.

More tiaras from the Swedish royals at the Nobel Laureates Dinner

More tiaras! Last night, December 11, King Carl XVI Gustaf held the annual dinner for the Nobel Laureates at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. All the royal ladies (and gents) were out to welcome the laureates to the palace. Because this is a white tie dinner, we get more gowns and more tiara photos. Yay! The gowns were different, obviously, but the only royal lady to switch up her tiara game was Queen Silvia. Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine stuck to their trusty fringe tiaras from the day before. Sofia Hellqvist still didn’t wear a tiara, but she did wear a hair brooch.

Silvia, Victoria, Madeleine, Sofia: Which Swedish Royal lady looked best at the Nobel Prize Ceremony?

Cue the mic drop, Crown Princess Victoria just schooled everyone in how to bring the fashion dramz. Victoria went all out stunning for the Nobel Prize Ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall and Nobel Banquet at Stockholm City Hall in a red, strapless ballgown accessorized with a fringe tiara. This is what I think of when I think of a Princess. That’s not to say that Queen Silvia, Princess Madeleine, and Sofia Hellqvist didn’t look fantastic, they did, but Victoria stole the show for me.

Sofia Hellqvist in ugly, $1,000 jeans to present Youth Entrepreneur award

I know Sofia Hellqvist isn’t the most popular future royal, what with her Miss Slitz past, but I’m not going to lie, I like her recent style for the most part. She’s classed it up in the last few years, to gain the public’s trust and respect in her hopes of becoming a princess – the second part of which she’s almost accomplished as her wedding to Prince Carl Philip is set for next June. As Sofia becomes more entrenched in royal life, with public appearances on behalf of the royal family, Sofia will have more opportunities to show off her fashion sense. Again, I rather like her style; her shoes aren’t always the best, but she looks nice for the most part. Unfortunately for Sofia, with more chances to show off her fashion comes more chances to miss the fashion mark. That is the topic for today’s post. During an appearance at the Swedish Youth Entrepreneur 2014 awards ceremony with Carl Philip on November 19 (yes, it’s a bit old now, but I just saw these photos), Sofia busted out a pair of jean-looking pants that are completely hideous.

Sofia Hellqvist joins tiara-clad Crown Princess Victoria and Queen Silvia for Official Dinner

Anyone want some tiara action from the Swedes? On Tuesday, November 18, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden held the year’s second Official Dinner at the Royal Palace (the first one was in March). The Dinner saw the King, Queen, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, and Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist greet representatives from the diplomatic corps, parliament, government, government agencies, science, sports, business, culture and the people who met the Royal Family on trips.

Swedish Royals: Carl Philip’s wedding date + Princess Madeleine’s use of social media to release baby photos

I want to take a second to talk about the Swedish Royals, in particular Princess Madeleine and Prince Carl Philip. Carl Philip’s wedding date was announced, and Madeleine and Sofia Hellqvist might make an appearance at this year’s Nobel banquet. Also, I want to take a moment and commend Madeleine on her use of social media to provide photo updates on her daughter, Princess Leonore (versus Prince William and Kate Middleton who threaten the press and photographers whenever there are pictures of Prince George).

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden celebrated her 37th birthday Monday July 14.  Victoria was born Princess Victoria on July 14, 1977 as the first child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.  In 1980, the laws of succession changed and she became the heir apparent and was made Crown Princess.  Her birthday is marked as a national holiday, Victoria Day (Victoriadagen).  Crowds gathered outside Sollidens castle in Oland to celebrate her birthday, where the King gave a speech.  For this event, Victoria was accompanied by her husband Prince Daniel, their daughter Princess Estelle, Queen Silvia and King Carl XVI Gustaf.

Prince Carl Philip is engaged to Sofia Hellqvist

The news of Prince Carl Philip of Sweden’s engagement to Sofia Hellqvist came out last Friday, late in the day.  I would have covered it, but the death of my dog and my subsequent depression took precedence.  Anyway, I’m covering it now ahead of an appearance by Kate Middleton later today.  So, Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist are engaged, and planning a wedding for summer 2015.  Yay?  I guess congrats to them, but my sympathies to the Swedes who will now have a former nude model/reality TV star as a representative of their country.  I mean, I know we have some crappy representatives here in the US, but at least we (for the most part) get to vote them out when they do stupid stuff.  Of the engagement, Carl Philip said, “I have the incredible honor of being engaged to this fantastic girl.”  And Sofia said, “Carl Philip is the most humble person I have ever met, which is what made me fall for him in the beginning.  He has one of the most beautiful hearts, he is very warm.”
