Kate steps out for 100 Women in Hedge Fund’s Gala

Kate attended the 100 Women in Hedge Funds gala on Thursday… and then went shopping on Friday.  First of all, it bugs me that Kate attends the 100WHF gala every year since she really does not belong anywhere near any accomplished woman ever, since she threw her life away for a ring.  She has done nothing of merit with her life, yet she gets fawned all over and treated as something special, like she deserves to be in the same room as women who are banking executives at major institutions and directors of multimedia business groups.  Having said that… Kate kind of has a reason to be there this year; the 100WHF is raising money for Action on Addiction, one of Kate’s charities.  Of course, this type of gala event is the only way to get Kate to do anything for her charities, because all Kate wants to do is get dressed up and play princess without actually having to do any work.  The gala was held in the state apartments in Kensington Palace, so Kate didn’t have to go very far to get there.

There has been a break in at Buckingham Palace.  The incident reportedly occurred last Monday at around 10 PM.  The intruder, a male, climbed a wall, kicked in a door and was caught in one of the 19 state rooms open to the public for tours.  He was arrested on suspicion of trespass, burglary and criminal damage.  His suspected accomplice, also male, was arrested on the street outside.  No members of the royal family were present at the time of the break in.  The incident is being investigated.

Pippa reveals a school-girl crush, shades her mom & Kate’s sports record in new article

Here’s another Pippa post.  Pippa wrote an article for Spectator in which she reveals how she had a crush on her hockey coach, Mr. Markham (I’ll get back to this in a bit).  The article is all about how many sports Pips played as a kid, and she seems to have played a ton of sports in school.  She mentions cross-country being “compulsory”, not sure if all the sports were compulsory or if it was just that one, but it seems odd.  I’ve never been to a school where extracurricular sports were mandatory; PE, yes, but after school sports?  Seems odd to me, but I did not attend some fancy private school in Britain.

New details about Kate and George, Princess Diana movie panned by critics

There’s a new article about Kate in Vanity Fair (here’s a Yahoo article with bullet points), with new details from Katie Nicholl’s new book (out September 17).  All I can say is that if any of this is true, then the Midds have done some serious leaking.

Kate’s “perfect” birth, Uncle Gary is talking again and Guy Pelly will not be a godparent

Kate’s first official royal appearance was last week at a race or something, it was supposed to be William’s solo but then she surprised everyone by turning up.  Everyone except Niraj Tanna, of course, who called it a day or so earlier.  I was going to cover it, but then I didn’t.  I don’t have much to say except that she’s back in her pre-pregnancy skinny jeans… five weeks after giving birth to an eight pound baby.  Sketchy?  I don’t know, I was told on Twitter that if she’s breastfeeding—and reports claim she is—that it’s possible to have lost all that weight in such a short amount of time.  Now I’m not going to say anything too crazy (just in case), but I must say that if she did not actually gain any baby weight, I think it’s unacceptable to claim the weight just “fell off” when the weight was never there to begin with, it sends a bad—and totally fake and unrealistic—message to normal women.  But then, of course she gained weight, right?  You can’t go through a pregnancy and delivery and not gain weight 😉  Here’s a bunch of articles about the appearance if you’re interested.
