Last night, December 11, the Swedish royals – King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine, and Chris O’Neill – attended the Nobel Laureates Dinner at the Royal Palace, bringing us a second tiara-filled night. Yay!

Swedish Royals at the Nobel Prize Ceremony and Banquet

One of my favorite events of the entire royal year is the Nobel Prize Ceremony because of the fashion and tiaras. This year, the entire adult Swedish Royal Family came out for the event: King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine, and Chris O’Neill. And there were some wows, and some what thes.

Royal Round Up: Letizia, Camilla, Eugenie, Charlene, Sofia

Here’s a Royal Round Up of two ladies we haven’t talked about in a while and three ladies we just talked about recently: Queen Letizia doing stuff for the Princess of Asturias awards; Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall at the Man Booker Prize; Princess Eugenie at an event for Elephant Family; Princess Charlene at the Princess Grace Awards; and Princess Sofia in a meeting with child rights organizations.

Queen Silvia doubles up the tiara appearances in Germany

So I survived my first big hurricane. I was not in one of my city’s evacuation zones and Matthew’s damage was not as severe as I had planned and prepared for – just minimal tree debris. I didn’t even lose power like I thought I would and didn’t need to dip into my power outage stash (though other parts of the city lost power). Thankfully the eye stayed a good 40-50 miles off shore, but the storm surge was still significant for the beaches, and the beach communities farther down the coast. I consider myself very lucky that I did not sustain much damage. Other areas along the coast sustained significant damage and flooding, and nearly 900 people were killed in Haiti. The Weather Channel has a good list of relief organizations if you would like to help out the communities affected by Hurricane Matthew.

Here’s just a quick pick-me-up post because looking at tiaras makes me happy. King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia were on a State Visit to Germany from October 5-8.

Crown Princess Victoria & Princess Sofia at Sweden Dinner, Princess Madeleine in New York

Friday, September 16, saw King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, and Princess Sofia attend the Sweden Dinner at the Royal Palace, while Princess Madeleine was in New York. Victoria has been in New York this week but her trip doesn’t end until the 23rd, so I’m going to wait and throw her entire trip into one post.

Swedes at parliament opening, Madeleine at Min Stora Dag event

Yesterday, September 13, was the opening of the Swedish parliament, Riksdag, which King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, and Princess Madeleine attended. I’m also including photos of Madeleine and Silvia showing a little girl around the Royal Palace in connection with Min Stora Dag, and photos of Victoria and Princess Estelle at an event on Sunday.

Prince Alexander’s Christening

Prince Alexander‘s Christening was yesterday, September 9, at the Royal Chapel at Drottningholm Palace in Stockholm. If you haven’t watched the ceremony yet and would like to do so, you can view it here. With all the royal children in attendance, there were a lot of Swedish royals: King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Alexander of course, Princess Madeleine, Chris O’Neill, Princess Leonore, and Prince Nicolas.
