Royal Round Up: The British, part 3

Royal Round Up: The British, part 3

Here is part 3 of the royal round up on the British Royal Family. This round up includes lots of Camilla (though not her trip to Ireland with Prince Charles, that will be covered later), and some other assorted royals. Go here for part 2, which includes other royals at the same events as Camilla.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles joined the Queen at the Service of Thanksgiving to mark the 70th Anniversary of VE Day at Westminster Abbey on Sunday, May 10. She wore a beautiful light blue coat and dress, with a matching blue hat which I love. Camilla really works her large hats. Camilla wore her pearl choker with a diamond clasp, pearl and diamond earrings, and a brooch that used to belong to the Queen Mother. The brooch is the badge of the 9th/12th Lancers. Camilla’s father was a 12th Lancer during World War II. Camilla visited the 9th/12th Lancers back in February where she gave a speech with anecdotes about her father.

Charles and Camilla on VE Day

After the Abbey service, Charles and Camilla traveled to Horse Guards Parade to meet World War II Veterans taking part in a March Past to mark the 70th Anniversary of VE Day.

After that, they attended an afternoon tea reception in St. James Park hosted by The Royal British Legion in honor of the veterans attending the 70th anniversary of VE day.

On May 12, Camilla and Charles were at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party. Camilla wore blue again, and looks great here, too. She wore the same necklace and earrings but switched the brooch to a moth brooch. Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Prince Edward are in this shot, too.

On Day 1 of the Royal Windsor Horse Show, on May 13, Camilla joined the Queen to take in the event. Camilla greeted HM with a curtsy and a kiss on the cheek.

Charles and Camilla visited Liverpool May 14, 2015. They visited the World Museum together and Camilla visited Kind Charity and Bump Start solo. Camilla wore polka dots. I love polka dots, but the color isn’t so great.

On Monday, May 18, Camilla joined Charles and the Queen at the Chelsea Flower Show, where they were shown around Prince Harry‘s Sentebale Garden. Considering how much Charles loves gardening, I’d bet he’s happy that Harry takes an interest in the Flower Show. Camilla wore another shade of blue, this time grey-blue, and her diamond and sapphire butterfly brooch.

Other British Royals

Peter Phillips and Zara Phillips Tindall also attended the Chelsea Flower Show Monday.

Peter and Autumn Phillips took their daughters, Savannah Phillips and Isla Phillips, to day 4 of the Royal Windsor Horse Show on May 16.

Autumn, Savannah, and Isla rode the Ferris wheel. It’s really nice that the royals take their kids to the horse show and have a good time. I hope William and Kate Middleton take Prince George and Princess Charlotte to the horse show like this at some point. Given their track record, I’m not holding my breath, but it would be so lovely to get pics like this of the Cambridge kids.

Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and James, Viscount Severn were also in attendance on day 4 of the Royal Windsor Horse Show. I’m including them because we hardly ever see James.

  1. Camilla looked great. You are right, KMR, she does hats so well! I loved her photo with the children. She relates so well to them.
Talk about busy Royals. PC and C are giving their all and enjoying it, or so it seems.

Loved Autumn’s photo with the kids on the ferris wheel. Very real and very nice!

  2. Oops and I missed the photo of the two little kids with their parentsw. Darling!
Yes, some members of the Royal Family are comfortable being out and about in public with their kids showing a nice amount of love for one another. W&K, take notice, please. (Of course, Charlotte is way too young), but more photos of the parents with PG would be nice.

  3. I’m a big fan of Camilla and I’m not afraid to say it. People can say give Sofia a pass because of her past but some want to hold Camilla’s feet to the fire for the rest of her life. She’s done a wonderful job getting into the swing of the life of the BRF and I think she does the family proud with the amount of work she does. I’m also a huge fan of her hats!

The Philips girls are adorable and very happy. You’re right KMR, I’m not holding my breath about seeing the Cambridge kids out like that any time in the near or not so near future. It would be wonderful to see them getting to know the other kids in the family.

Anyway, more power to the ones who get out there and do the work and stay in touch and connected.

    1. I totally agree with you Lisa, Camilla would be one of my favorite royals to sit down and have drink and chat with. She seems very down to earth and comfortable in her royal role, plus the smile on Charles’ face when he looks at her is very sweet. I too love how she rocks the large hats and tiaras, no puny fascinators for her!

  4. How nice to see the extended Mountbatten-Windsor clan spending time together and enjoying each others company. And how nice to see Sophie’s son James, I was wondering if he really existed as he’s never seen, maybe now that he’s older Sophie and Edward will let him be seen now and then. It would be great if the Middleton-Cambridge clan would attend these types of events in the future, let G&C get to know their cousins, I mean what could be more “normal” than that?

I am a fan of Camilla’s style, she wears almost the same style of dress coat all the time but makes it look fresh and new with great colors and fabrics. Plus pearls and diamonds can make any outfit look great!!

Sorry Sophie but I don’t care for the coat you wore to the BP Garden Party, the cut is much too boxy and is very unflattering to your figure. And the wee purse looks like one your daughter played with as a toddler.

    1. What was up with the tiny purse? I don’t get the appeal at all. What can one fit in there?

      1. A lipstick. A teeny blush. That’s all she needs. No need for cash, coins or a wallet.
Teeny pursesa frustrate me, too, Need to go back and review photos again, Did not catch it the first time around.

  5. I doubt we will ever see Kate out with the kids at the Windsor horse show. Kate’s too busy pretending to be allergic to horses. A fake farm is more her style. Which kindda leads on to something that bugs me. She’s married into a family which owns real farms but she takes George to a fake petting farm? Does Kate realise they have little animals on real farms too?
Could William have found a wife with less in common with him if he tried?
Or were the visits just for show? Wanting people to think she’s a good Mum taking George out, in reality she’d rather be shopping?
