The Duchess of Cambridge did a bunch of stuff this year, as the world opened up more once the Covid vaccine was rolled out. I won’t go over everything, but I wanted to do a review of some of the more interesting fashion from Kate this year as well as touch on some bigger moments for her this year.
Let’s start with the biggest moment from Prince William and Kate as a couple this year: they celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on April 29! Congratulations to them on making it through 10 whole years of marriage. My goodness, where has the time gone?? To celebrate their anniversary, the couple released two photos taken by Chris Floyd at Kensington Palace in the week ahead of their anniversary.
The couple also released a video on Twitter of themselves and their three children at the beach and presumably at their home in Norfolk.
Thank you to everyone for the kind messages on our wedding anniversary. We are enormously grateful for the 10 years of support we have received in our lives as a family. W & C

Another huge moment from this year was, sadly, the passing of Prince Philip. Philip passed away on April 9, 2021 at the age of 99.

Kate has worn quite a few of these types of outfits in 2021: a long coat with proper trousers. This is my favorite of those types of looks she’s worn this year.
Kate brought back her Massimo Dutti coat she first wore in January 2020, along with new Emmy London clutch and shoes, and her Strathearn Tartan Scarf she’s had for years. She also wore a pair of Hamilton & Inches “Flora Drop Earrings” which I think are cute (this is a Scottish brand).

But the main reason I want to comment on that event is because Kate wore a new loan from The Queen: the earrings from the Dubai Looped Sapphire Demi-Parure. These earrings are so pretty and I love seeing Kate wear more of the Queen’s jewels.

I know she has a ton of these basic Catherine Walker coats, and most of them are interchangeable, but she does wear them well. And for an event such as this, it worked well.

Embed from Getty ImagesFall saw a return to big events and fashion moments from Kate. The first was the James Bond premiere in September where she wore this gold, sparkly Jenny Packham gown with shoulder pads and a cape.
Embed from Getty ImagesThen in October, Kate joined William at the Earthshot prize ceremony where she wore this Alexander McQueen gown that she first wore in 2011 at the Los Angeles BAFTA gala during their first tour. This dress is so pretty; I’m so glad she brought this back. Her hair is also very pretty here. My favorite outfit of the year for sure.
