Kate in red for Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey

The Duchess of Cambridge hosted a “Together at Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey this evening, December 8. She was joined by Prince William as well as members of the Royal Family and the Middletons.

The carol service was an opportunity to come together and reflect on the challenges of the last two years and celebrate the acts of kindness witnessed across UK communities.

Kate wore a new red Catherine Walker coat with The Queen Mother’s Sapphire and Diamond Fringe Earrings on loan from The Queen. Kate previously wore these earrings to the 2015 Women in Hedge Funds dinner.

Kate wore a black version of this coat to Prince Philip’s funeral, and I kind of prefer it in black. The red with the giant bow looks a bit too “Christmas present” for me. But Kate loves a good theme look, so this is right up her alley.

Several members of the Royal Family came out to support the service: The Countess of Wessex; Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi; Princess Eugenie; and Zara and Mike Tindall.
