Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden married Daniel Westling 10 years ago today, on June 19, 2010. Wow! Ten years on, Victoria and Prince Daniel have a good string of events and initiatives under their belts, as well as two lovely children: Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar. To celebrate their ten year anniversary, the royal court released several new photos of Victoria and Daniel, together and separately.
The photos were taken at Haga Palace, the couple’s official residence. Two were taken outside on the grounds, while the rest were taken indoors.
I have to laugh at the inclusion of the geese in the photo above. Geese, while babies, are adorable, but as adults they’re a huge nuisance.
There were three photos released of the couple, and four of Victoria solo (and two of Daniel, but I’ve not included them here – I have included them over on FB).
Two of the photos feature Victoria in full white tie, but the second two are more casual. The brooch in these photos is so pretty.
The full photos feature quite a bit of location space which makes it difficult to see the couple, so I’m including cropped images as well for a better view of the couple (but mostly the fashion).
For one of the couple shots, and two of the solo shots, Victoria brought back the Elie Saab Spring 2010 Couture gown she wore to the pre-wedding dinner.
This dress is stunning; a wonderful treat to see it again. Also a treat to see Victoria’s hair down. We hardly ever see it down in general, but especially with a tiara on. She looks so pretty here.
For the photo with the geese, Victoria is wearing a custom version of the H&M Conscious Exclusive Tulle Ball Gown (the original version retails for $399.00) along with the giant diamond earrings she wore to the pre-wedding dinner.
For the third dress, Victoria is wearing a custom Frida Jonsvens Couture gown. The designer confirmed this on IG, saying, in part (translated via Google Translate): “I was honored to create this floral creation for our fantastic Crown Princess for this occasion. And it has really been such an indescribable honor and so special to me.”
Y’all know how I feel about florals, but I don’t hate this. It’s not my taste at all, but I think it works very well in this photo. The bright colors of the gown contrast the greens and browns so beautifully.
I’m also including close ups of Victoria’s face so we can get a better view of the jewelry. In the photos in the Elie Saab, Victoria is wearing the Connaught Tiara – brought to Sweden by Princess Margaret of Connaught as a wedding gift when she married Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden (the future King Gustaf VI Adolf) in 1905. In the geese photo, Victoria is wearing the Baden Fringe Tiara – which was a wedding gift to Princess Victoria of Baden when she married Crown Prince Gustaf of Sweden and Norway (the future King Gustaf V) in 1881.
The Swedish Royal Court uploaded a video of the 2010 wedding ceremony to YouTube channel. The video is only an hour and the wedding ceremony itself if only 15 minutes of the video, so I don’t know if it’s the fully ceremony.
