Princess Michael’s “Diana was uneducated” and “older royals are boring” quotes are actually completely true

Princess Michael is still pimping her book (The Queen of Four Kingdoms), this time on Canadian TV.  In the interview Princess Michael talked about Princess Diana and mentioned William and Kate and the younger royal generation.  Her comments have made headlines and people are harping on key phrases without giving the context—because context is boring when a few words can cause an outrage and get people to click on articles.  I understand the whole salacious headline to get readership/clicks, but it bugs the crap out of me because people latch onto those headlines and make a big deal out of it when if you read the quotes in context they aren’t that bad (and that goes for a lot of things, not just these Princess Michael quotes).  Her comments that are making headlines are about Princess Diana being uneducated and how the older royals are boring.  Ugh, I hate to defend her (since I was kind of called out for defending her in the last Princess Michael post I made), but her quotes aren’t really that salacious; they are pretty accurate when read in context.

New details about Kate and George, Princess Diana movie panned by critics

There’s a new article about Kate in Vanity Fair (here’s a Yahoo article with bullet points), with new details from Katie Nicholl’s new book (out September 17).  All I can say is that if any of this is true, then the Midds have done some serious leaking.

The Cambridges left the hospital

The new Prince of Cambridge was born only on Monday, but there is a ton of baby coverage and articles surrounding every little thing.  Like, seriously, there are eight articles on the Daily Mail website just from today.  It’s ridiculous.  I don’t even want to bother reading it all, at least not tonight, too annoying.  I just want to cover the major thing that happened today (or yesterday, technically, since it’s after midnight).  The Cambridges went home from the hospital, giving the press their money shot that they’ve been waiting outside the Lindo Wing all this month for.  Go here for a picture of the family; here for a sweet picture of William holding his son; and here and here for close-ups of the baby.  It looks like he does have some dark hairs already, so cute.  I’m going to give the baby the benefit of the doubt, since he is only a baby and he didn’t ask to be born, whom to be born to, or what he looks like.  Until he does something worth criticizing him for, I’m going to leave him alone.  But that won’t stop me from criticizing his parents.  Just because they had a baby does not absolve them of their sins.

Is Kate lying about her due date?

There are new reports that Kate could be lying about the due date for her baby and that she could be due ten days earlier than has been previously reported.  It was first reported that she was due in July, then they narrowed it down to mid-July, then some media outlets were saying anywhere from July 13-15 (I’ve seen different outlets say different days, so I’m not sure).  Well now the Telegraph has a story about how Kate could by lying and that they think she’s actually due in the first week of July.  Apparently Diana told everyone that her due date was July 1 (with William), but she delivered ten days early, on June 21.  They keep harping on the fact that Kate refused to attend the Percy wedding last weekend (and instead went shopping) because she was afraid she would deliver early; but as I’ve said previously, I think that was just a fib so that it wouldn’t look bad when she didn’t attend when the real reason was the Percy’s didn’t want her there.  Of course, Kate has been so thin throughout her pregnancy that if she is due earlier than previously thought, my god she is tiny for a nine months pregnant woman.  Seriously.  If you were to tell me that she was due later than previously reported, I’d totally believe you since she looks nowhere near the end of her pregnancy.

Kate Middleton: world’s greatest style icon?

Before I begin, I would like to say that this seems like a plug for the website that carried out the “survey” rather than an actual consensus of what people in Britain think.  So it is not surprising that Kate Middleton just so happened to be at the top of a “most fashionable celebrity” list.  Not to mention put in the same category as iconic women like Princess Diana and Audrey Hepburn.  I would not be surprised if the woman who led this “survey” cooked the books to make sure the Daily Mail (DM) printed a story about it, the DM will do anything to make “Kate Middleton, the style icon” happen.  And they love nothing more than to put her name in the same article with Princess Diana.  So let’s take this one with a grain of salt, shall we.
