Hey, look at that, another patronage gets a letter of support from The Duchess of Cambridge! Action for Children posted their message from Kate today, April 21.

Action for Children supports children and young people by finding safe and loving homes, and providing practical care and emotional support, in order to prevent abuse, neglect, and homelessness. They also support parents with practical advice and online support to enhance family well-being.

I’m writing to express my sincere appreciation to all of you at Action for Children during this hugely unsettling time.

Whilst you are having to adapt your services during this pandemic, it is heartening to know that you are still able to provide vital support to children and families across the U.K, who need you help now more than ever. Many of you are working on the frontline, in residential and other settings, to directly support children, with many others enabling this all to happen behind the scenes.

You must all have particular concerns at the moment for children who are especially vulnerable and who are spending time in home environments where they are at risk of violence, abuse and neglect. I know you will be doing all you can to look out for them. Your willingness to be there for those that need your help is truly humbling.

This comes with my very best wishes for good health to you all and your families over the coming weeks.

This is the third recent message of support we’ve seen released, after Action on Addiction and Evelina London. They’re all in a similar vein, but they have been personalized for each charity, which is nice to see.

Action for Children is one of the three patronages Kate picked up from The Queen at the beginning of 2017 after HM announced in December 2016 that she would be passing on 25 of her patronages to family members. Kate has done three visits to Action for Children as patron, and previously visited in 2015 before becoming patron.

Her most recent visit with Action for Children was in June 2019 when she attended a photography workshop at Warren Park Children’s Centre put on by the Royal Photographic Society.
