My how time has flown – Prince Nicolas of Sweden is already celebrating his first birthday, today, June 15.

To mark his first birthday, the Swedish court released a new photo of Nicolas (above). The photo was taken at Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill‘s home in Stockholm.
Madeleine posted the below photo of Nicolas, taken during the same photoshoot, to her Facebook page with the caption: “Happy Birthday Nicolas! You are our sweetheart and we love you to the moon and back!”

Maddie celebrated her 34th birthday last week on June 10. The court released this new photo of her to mark her birthday. It was taken during the photoshoot after Prince Oscar’s Christening.

I can only imagine how he and Leonore are starting to bond. This was the age when my girls would really start to engage as playmates. And those eyes! He really is a lovely combination between Madeleine and Chris.

One of my happy dork moments was when I commented on a picture of Leonore and complimented Madde and Chris on their beautiful family and thanked them for sharing, she liked the comment!

Maddie and Chris get it right. They allow people to have the opportunity to view their kids in joyful, wonderful moments. And, their children also have privacy.

Yes, they really do get it right: share their family in the appropriate fashion knowing people want o see them and also creating that bond there. I really enjoy seeing Leonore and Nicolas grow up and appreciate they take the time to share with people who they know care about their children even though we’re vast strangers. It’s why I’d commented, just to thank her for doing that because they don’t have to but it’s clear they WANT to. No PR in it.

I didn’t realize Maddie is the same age as Kate. She looks absolutely gorgeous! And looks her age! I’m actually jealous of how good looking she is!

I really wonder sometimes if Kate has any cognizance of the rest of the Royal world, in particular the wonderful SRF.
She is a stunner, isn’t she. Probably the most good looking royal that I know and the most photogenic, too. There is a rumour that Camilla was not in favour of Kate from even the girlfriend times and was lobbying for William to marry a European royal. I would guess Maddie was her first choice. She would have been a huge asset to BRF imho, however I’m happy that she was spared of the prospect to marry Wills. I’m sure she’s much better off with Chris.
Nicolas is such a sweet little boy, he has definitely his mum’s eyes. Now that he’s growing, he will be competing with his big sister who is the most lively in the house, lol.

How hypocritical of Charles and Camilla! He wanted to marry Camilla, a commoner, but a commoner for his son? No way, only a royal! Same for Camilla – she was in the same sutuation as a non royal girlfriend -.-
I think it would be sooo lovely if George would marry Leonore one day – the O’Neills live in London now and I’m sure they are all in the same exquistie circles so a childhood friendship turning into romance for George and Leonore – my secret dream couple 😉

My son got his arm cast off yesterday – the arm still looks a bit wonky, but the doctor says it’ll be back to normal in a few weeks!

I was in shock to see that Nicholas turned one yr old. Wow. And what a beautiful gorgeous handsome little boy with those eyes. I do agree his mother Maddie is so beautiful.

He looks like Leonore here.As for his parents looks,I find Christopher O Neill nothing special.On the other hand, Princess Madeliene has stunning blue eyes and her hair is always in beautiful condition and she’s ok in the other departments.I in particular like her English accent.

But….did anyone notice the beige nursery? Maybe this is a trend among aristocracy?? I have a feeling if we were able to see these people’s baby rooms, 9 out of 10 would be neutral palettes. Looks like Kate is just keeping up with a trend, rather than breaking new bland ground with her color schemes haha

I wouldn’t be surprised if the royal trend was for bland, but have to say that Swedes do have a thing for neutral color in their homes – lots of white and beige!
Maybe not, just pointing out that we are quick to get on Kate (cause it’s just so easy any more, let’s be honest;) ) about her blah interior decorating, but looks like she’s just being au courant rather than blazing her own taupe trail!
I pinned it down to the modern, fresh and bright Scandinavian design/decor aesthetic.
It must be the fashion everywhere in Europe, then.
I think royals and rich people in general tend to have their babies in bland clothes and bland nurseries. It’s a rich ppl thing maybe? Something that sets them apart from the great unwashed?
Wow, what insanely gorgeous photos! Maddie’s one of my favorite royals and Nicolas is turning out to be a handsome wee fellow. I love Squirmy Monkey (aka Leonore) too. I do wish Chris would grow his beard back. I am a sucker for beards (hello, Harry and Haakon).

Time certainly has a way of getting away from us. I am shocked that Nicolas is one! Happy belated birthday to him and his mom. He is one beautiful child. A good combination of his parents. And, Madeleine is so beautiful, warm and loving. The Swedish Royal Family is tops in my book.

Really love the Swedish royal family. My favorite used to be the Danish one (and I still love Queen Margrethe), but Madeleine and Victoria are my favorite royals to read about.

My favourite royals used to be the Dutch Royals and I like hearing about them too but it is lovely watching the children grow.
