Tiara Tour 2015: Queen Letizia, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Silvia

I love state visits when royalty is involved, you know why? Tiaras. There are currently three state visits going on in three different countries. Colombia paid a state visit to Spain, Mexico paid a state visit to Britain, and Sweden paid a state visit to Finland. The three royal stars of the tiara show: Queen Letizia, Queen Elizabeth II, and Queen Silvia.

Swedish royals in tiaras: Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Madeleine

And we’re back with one of our favorite royal families doing what they do best: tiaras! Yesterday, February 11, the Swedish Royal Family stepped out for the first official dinner of the year at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. As per usual, guests included representatives from the diplomatic corps, parliament, government, government agencies, science, sport, business, and culture. There was a big royal turn out which included King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Sofia Hellqvist, and Princess Madeleine (Chris sat this one out). Guests were received in the White Sea and dinner was served in Karl XI’s Gallery.

The Danish Royal Family stepped out yesterday, January 1, for their first major event of the year, the New Year’s Banquet at Christian VII’s Palace. More tiaras from the Swedish royals at the Nobel Laureates Dinner

More tiaras! Last night, December 11, King Carl XVI Gustaf held the annual dinner for the Nobel Laureates at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. All the royal ladies (and gents) were out to welcome the laureates to the palace. Because this is a white tie dinner, we get more gowns and more tiara photos. Yay! The gowns were different, obviously, but the only royal lady to switch up her tiara game was Queen Silvia. Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine stuck to their trusty fringe tiaras from the day before. Sofia Hellqvist still didn’t wear a tiara, but she did wear a hair brooch.

Silvia, Victoria, Madeleine, Sofia: Which Swedish Royal lady looked best at the Nobel Prize Ceremony?

Cue the mic drop, Crown Princess Victoria just schooled everyone in how to bring the fashion dramz. Victoria went all out stunning for the Nobel Prize Ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall and Nobel Banquet at Stockholm City Hall in a red, strapless ballgown accessorized with a fringe tiara. This is what I think of when I think of a Princess. That’s not to say that Queen Silvia, Princess Madeleine, and Sofia Hellqvist didn’t look fantastic, they did, but Victoria stole the show for me.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall busts out family tiara for Buckingham Palace reception

Tiara-mas came early, you guys! I was expecting to have to wait until December 10th to see some magnificent tiaras adorned atop royal heads, but Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall gave me an early present! Yay! Camilla is a girl after my own heart. She loves big jewelry and tiaras just like I do; so unlike some other royals, she doesn’t skimp on the jewelry. She always brings the jewelry. And unlike some other royals, Camilla can pull off some big jewelry without it overpowering her, or looking cheap or clownish.

Anyone want some tiara action from the Swedes? On Tuesday, November 18, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden held the year’s second Official Dinner at the Royal Palace (the first one was in March). The Dinner saw the King, Queen, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, and Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist greet representatives from the diplomatic corps, parliament, government, government agencies, science, sports, business, culture and the people who met the Royal Family on trips.
